The Bastiat Society of Northern Ireland Forms
We start 2017 by welcoming the Bastiat Society of Northern Ireland to our network.
Jeffrey Peel, a businessman, and fellow at the Institute of Economic Affairs in London, has taken on the task of forming the chapter in Belfast.
Peel founded Quadriga Consulting Ltd - a marketing consulting firm - in 2002, and has since worked with leading technology, professional services and financial services clients such as Microsoft, Verint, PwC, BlackBerry, Digia, and Equiniti.
He regularly appears in the media to discuss social/business policy, free market economics and the role of technology in economic growth. Peel has also chaired many events focused on topics such as eGovernment, mobility, cloud technology, UK sovereignty, and free market economics.
Being well-connected to the business community in Belfast, Dublin and London, Peels notes, “Northern Ireland has no free-market think-tank, so this is a good means of providing free market ideas to a wide business audience.”
“Northern Ireland is a small nation within the UK but has a proud tradition of global trading,” he adds. “This is a good opportunity for free trade focused business owners and organizations to come together and present a united front for free trade as the UK prepares to leave the EU.”
Joining France and England, the Bastiat Society of Northern Ireland represents our third chapter to form in Europe. Both Northern Ireland and England will start hosting events in early 2017.
